Privacy Policy — Follower Analyzer: Unfollowers & Fans
Last updated: 2026
This browser extension is designed to work entirely on your own device.
What it accesses
- The export files you upload (
followers_*.json, following.json) — parsed
in the extension’s page to compare your followers and following.
- Your logged-in Instagram session — used only to look up public profile
status (active / private / deactivated) for the accounts you choose to check,
by making the same requests your browser already makes on instagram.com.
What it does with that data
- All processing happens locally in your browser.
- Results and your preferences are stored only in your browser’s local
storage, on your device.
- Nothing is uploaded, transmitted, or shared. There is no server, no
analytics, no tracking, and no third parties. The developer cannot see any of
your data.
What it does NOT do
- It does not collect, sell, or transfer any personal or Instagram data.
- It does not store your password (it never sees it — it uses your existing
browser session).
- It does not run any remote code; all code ships inside the extension.
Permissions
- instagram.com host access — required to look up profile status using your
own session.
- tabs / scripting — to open or reuse an Instagram tab and run the lookup
script in it.
- storage — to remember your results and settings locally.
Removing your data
Clearing the extension’s data (the “Clear saved data” button, or removing the
extension) deletes everything it stored, since it only ever lived on your device.
